On 22/02/25 our beautiful and beloved Daisy May Catterall sadly lost her life aged just 25, due to suddenly developing a rare disease called Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). She developed HLH off the back of being poorly with a virus for a few weeks which then quickly spiralled. Little is known about this disease and it is often undetected or missed in patients.

Daisy was headstrong, the most loveable character who had the biggest heart and always took care of those around her. She stood up for her beliefs and always strived to complete any goal she set her mind to - no idea was impossible in Daisy’s eyes.

One of Daisy’s bucket list goals was to take part in the Tough Mudder challenge. In her honour and as a testament to her character, a whopping 53 of us have decided to ‘Do It For Daisy’ and take on one of the worlds most intense obstacle courses! Across the participants (of which we have named below), we are taking part in the 5k and the 15k challenges. These challenges will include gruelling obstacles such as tear gas, electrocution, ice dunks, high walls and lots of mud!

We are taking part to raise money for the UCLH charity (University College London Hospitals) who have a team dedicated to treating, testing and researching HLH. The specialised team at UCLH worked closely with the doctors at Gloucester Hospital after Daisy’s diagnosis to advise and assist in her treatment. The money we raise for UCLH will contribute directly towards the vital research into HLH, in the hopes of understanding more about this cruel disease and to help any future patients diagnosed with this illness.
