Story
As I move into my mid 40s I decided that I am going to try my hand at endurance activities - let's call it what it is, a midlife crisis. But I figure that I can also do something good from this and raise some money for a very worth cause.
Marie Curie is is a charity working across the UK and here to help anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Terminal illness is a tough road, and the support charities like Marie Curie provide can be a real lifeline at the toughest times of people's lives.
Between July and September, I will be doing 4 events:
11 July: Tara Kinder 10K Run
8 August: Padstow to Rock 1 mile open water swim
20 September: Swim Serpetine 2 mile open water swim
28 September: Robin Hood Half Marathon
Thanks to support from Steph and the coaches at the TFN Tri club, I am hoping my knees and shoulders will make it through the summer.
I would really appreciate any support you're able to give me on this mid-life crisis fundraiser. I was privileged enough to be able to care for my beloved Mum at home at the end of her life, and giving her a peaceful death brought us all peace in our grief; but this didn't come easily, and that's why it's so important that we help support people at the end of life to ensure people can die in peace and with dignity, and those left behind are supported.
Thank you
