Olivia Hamilton is raising money for Myeloma UK

Devon girls do Dartmoor · 15 June 2024

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. We provide information and support to patients and their families and help myeloma patients live longer, with a better quality of life by accelerating the discovery, development of and access to new treatments.

Story

Hello! We are the Hamilton girls: Harriet, Alice, Olivia, and Rosie.

We are going to be walking the entire length of Dartmoor, covering nearly 50km in one day, all in the hope of raising awareness and funds for Myeloma UK.

Our Dad, Monty Hamilton, was diagnosed with Myeloma in July 2023, after he broke his back in four places. Myeloma, a blood cancer stemming from plasma cells, accounts for 15% of blood cancers and 2% of all cancers. It remains incurable today.

Witnessing Dad's battle with this cancer, enduring rounds of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, we've seen first-hand the challenges of this journey.

Now, with Dad going through more treatment, we're determined to contribute to the fight against Myeloma in some small way.

Your donation, whether big or small, will make a tangible difference, aiding research, patient support, and raising awareness for Myeloma UK.

Please join us in fundraising, or raising awareness, for those affected by Myeloma.
