Story
Hello everyone, it's that time again for many of us to ask for donations support and Vaseline. This will be my final time i take part in this wonderful event. The previous two times i took part in the London Marathon I did it for two wonderful charities Bloodwise and Breast Cancer UK. On my last run in this event I will be running for mental health through a wonderful charity named Shaw Trust.
An estimated 14.3% of deaths worldwide, or approximately 8 million deaths each year, are attributable to mental disorders. This is a very real issue for many of us and for some people it means that they just cant go on with their struggle, with drugs, alcohol or whatever other demons they are struggling with.
We all have our demons to deal with but for some people it just became too much. I have lost a close friend last year who felt he couldn't carry on and could not face talking to anyone. A young vibrant, funny and family young man ended his life for this reason and all of his family and friends were helpless to help or save him, that really hurts!
I am running this marathon because I hate the thought of putting on a pair of trainers and hitting the road and the agonising pain from blisters, chafing and nipple bleeding ouch. However, as much as I hate this form of exercise I am doing it for David, Jason, Joseph, Gavin and all the other sufferers out there, the family and friends of the people who have lost their fight against this terrible thing called Mental Health and all those heroes out their battling to fight the demons every day.
Please help a man who wants to help others that cant help themselves!!
Dig as deep as you can sponsor what ever you can if you can or just drop me a message and say you care or tell that love one who might be struggling you care.
Many Thanks Charlie
