Lyke Wake Walk · 7 June 2025

WISHH stands for Working Independently to Support Hull Hospitals. We fundraise to complement and enrich the services and facilities at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospitals, over and above what can be achieved by the NHS alone, for the benefit and comfort of patients and their loved ones.

Story

Please Note - This is a team fundraising page!

Starting at midnight on Saturday 7th June 15 members of the Dewhirst Farming Group will be completing the Lyke Wake Walk, a gruelling 42 mile walk over starting at Osmotherley heading east over the North York Moors finishing at the North Sea Coast at Ravenscar. We aim to complete the walk in around 16 hours.

We are raising money for The Queens Centre at Castle Hill Hospital. The Centre is Hull is the regional care centre for Hull, East Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire for Oncology and Haematology.

1 in 2 people will develop some form of Cancer during their lifetime with someone being diagnosed every two minutes in the UK.

As many readers of the page will be aware several of our colleagues and family members are undergoing treatment at the centre. Working with WISHH Charity (Working Independently to Support Hull Hospitals) we are hoping to raise as much money as possible to support the amazing work that the team at Castle Hill are doing.

Thank you for your support.
