‘Luing to Ling" Kayak and Bike Charity Challenge for DeWoDe.

Our Health Centre in Uganda is in urgent need of an ultrasound machine for its maternity unit. This essential piece of equipment will significantly improve the care provided to mothers and their babies.

On the 13th of October 2025, I will set off from the beautiful Island of Luing in Scotland. My journey will take me via various checkpoints, starting with a kayak trip to Crinan, followed by cycling to Kames. I will then kayak along the west side of the Island of Bute to Portencross, cycle through the stunning Galloway Forest towards the Solway, kayak across the Solway, cycle to Wythop Mill, and finally walk up Ling Fell.

This is a multi-day challenge and while the exact mileage is uncertain (over 140 as the crow flies!), I will provide daily updates on my progress on DEWODE’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/DeWoDe.

My target is to raise £2,000 for DEWODE Uganda, which is around half the cost for the ultrasound.
