a pilgrimage from tooting to adhisthana
We've outgrown our building. Right now dozens are waiting for a space on each retreat, and many more would come if they were able. We want a bigger retreat centre so that we can run retreats for at least 60 people and house a community of 12.

Story

a pilgrimage from tooting to adhisthana

I'm walking 150 miles over 10 days, from Sangharakshita's birthplace in London, to Adhisthana – where he died. I'll be setting off from Tooting on 12th June, and arriving at Adhisthana on the 22nd... just in time to catch the pilgrims week and 108-hour circumambulation of his burial mound. I'll be travelling as light as possible, but will have Nagabodhi's new book on Sangharakshita with me.

It will be quite a stretch, but I really want to do what I can to help us find a bigger, better Tiratanaloka that will take the brakes off the ordination process for the next generation of women Order members – and make life more sustainable for the wonderful Tiratanaloka team!

About the campaign

We've outgrown our building. Right now dozens are waiting for a space on each retreat, and many more would come if they were able. We want a bigger retreat centre so that we can run retreats for at least 60 people and house a community of 12.

About the charity

It's all about friendship: helping women in their journey towards ordination into the Triratna Buddhist Order. We are a Buddhist community living together, running retreats and supporting each individual in the deepening of their Buddhist practice.
