🐴 HELP US FEED THE PONIES IN OUR CARE THIS WINTER ❤️
Thanks to the incredible support of thousands of you this summer, Dartmoor’s semi-wild pony herds have a brighter future — and we cannot thank you enough for being their voice.
But while the summer campaign may be over, our work carries on.
🍂 As the cooler weather arrives, we’re looking ahead to the tough winter months.
Following the annual pony drifts this Autumn, many young ponies will arrive at our charity HQ, where they’ll stay until they find loving, suitable homes.
They’ll need food, warmth, veterinary care and lots of patience and kindness. Our amazing volunteers will work with each pony, gently taming and training them to accept human contact and learn to trust — helping prepare them for their new lives.
And it all comes at a cost.
💷 We’re aiming to raise £2000 towards our winter feed bill.
Friends of the Dartmoor Hill Pony is entirely volunteer-led. No one takes a wage, and we rely completely on the generosity of our supporters and the tireless efforts of our volunteers.
🐴 Every pound makes a difference.
Could you spare a few pounds to help us reach our £2000 target?

🌾 £45 buys 1 huge round bale of hay, which lasts the herd around half a day at peak winter use
🛏️ £75 buys 1 large bale of straw, enough for roughly 3–4 weeks at our usual usage
🩺 £100 helps towards essential veterinary treatment
🌾 £225 buys 5 huge hay bales, around 3 days of hay at peak winter use
💚 £500 could provide a whole week’s peak hay supply for our ponies.
