$18 for Ugandan Jewish students!
Shalom,
I’m Dia and for my entire life I have been fortunate to attend great Jewish schools where I get a solid secular education and also the gift of incorporating Jewish history and culture, tefillah, Torah and Ivrit into my education. I believe that all Jewish children should have the same opportunity that I have had, and this is why I am requesting that my community use the occasion of my Bat Mitzvah to help support the Hadassah Primary School in Uganda. This school also welcomes Christian and Muslim students to receive a great education. Many of the students actually board at the school since the walking distances are too far for them to live at home. The donations will go to the scholarship fund which helps students afford the necessary supplies, uniforms and shoes that they will need to set them up for scholarly success.
I have had a chance to meet a student who attended Hadassah, Emunah, who will celebrate her Bat Mitzvah just 5 days later than me in New York City where her Ima (mother) is studying to be a rabbi. Emunah has shared with me how wonderful her Ugandan school is and that she too is using her Bat Mitzvah to raise money to support students there.
Thank you so much for helping me❤️
