A group of ladies from Appleton Roebuck and the surrounding villages are taking part in the Moonlight Walk on Saturday 14th September raising funds for St Leonard's Hospice in York. This is a 7 mile circular route through the centre of York.

Taking part are - Diane B, Helen O, Laura S, Sammy H, Lorna P and Sarah M.

Some of the above walkers have joined this fundraising team - all donations made to anyone in this team will go towards the team total. St Leonard’s Hospice provides care and support for people with life limiting illnesses and their families when they need it most, and we’ve been doing it for 39 years. Our patients’ needs are our priority, and our care is designed to make the best of their lives. We provide care at our Hospice, in patients’ homes, and in our community.

We provide care for free, but it’s not free to provide. It costs £7.9 million a year, and just a quarter of that comes from the government. We rely on the generosity of our community for the rest. Your donation means we can be here to help more people in York and surrounding areas when they need us most.
