Story

We are coming together to take part in the Kiltwalk 2025 in honor of our Carolann, raising funds for Marie Curie! We are Team Brodie!

I met Carolann as a child when I had to move to a new school after my parents divorce. She was the opposite of me, and perhaps this is why the class teacher sat me beside her on my first day of my new school. I was scared but Carolann was hilariously funny and although we remained very different people, our friendship grew and developed through our childhood, into our teenage years and then adulthood for over 35 years. No matter what we were doing, where we were, what was happening during our adult years Carolann and I always came back to one another. Checking in with each other, catching up, advice, reassurance, sometimes laughter, other times tears and everything inbetween.

Carolann was only 44 and in a matter of a few short months she was gone, leaving behind a void in so many people’s lives and hearts!

It's hard to believe my beautiful friend is gone forever. It's hard to accept. It's hard to understand or make sense of how or why this happened, especially in the way it did. There is a space in my life that can never be filled and a sadness that won't ever go away. I miss Carolann so much.

We are walking to keep her memory alive and there is no better event than the Kiltwalk, raising funds for Marie Curie and finishing in her happy place, Balloch!

Marie Curie not only provided an incredible support to Carolann but also her family and friends, ensuring she was able to make some special memories during some tough times!

We can’t thank them enough and we hope to raise funds to allow them and other families to benefit from the sheer dedication and support they provide.

Any donation is greatly appreciated to allow these “angels” to continue with their care!

Thank you from me and Team Brodie
