Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in memory of Dave. He was a dearly-loved and long-standing member of Bromley Cricket Club, father to Mark and friend to many, both on and off the pitch. Owing to this gift for friendship he built a wide circle of friends across the many activities that he participated in.
Dave sadly passed away aged 85 following a short but challenging battle with cancer on 21st November 2023.
Dave enjoyed a long and very happy marriage to Betty until she succumbed to the cruel disease of Alzheimer's in 2017. During the period of her illness, and subsequently following her death, Dave made weekly visits to the Memory Cafe in Bromley; there, he shared his warmth and humour with those who had been similarly afflicted by this cruel disease, until his own health made this impossible. The cafe provides a safe and caring space for sufferers and their loved ones to meet and gain strength and support from those that share their experience and understand the pressures facing victims and their families. We believe that Dave would have been most appreciative that his passing could continue to support the incredible work of the volunteers.
Please make sure to mark your donation 'Dave Barrett Memory Cafe'.
Thank you so much
