The goal is to install benches in as many public parks throughout the UK, discreetly inscribed with a QR code, that opens up an array of supporting organisations for Mental Health issues and Suicide Awareness/Support. Someone is always listening...

Story

In January 2025, the world lost a legend. Joe Powell, known to many as the fearless EAGLEMAN, was a much-loved part of the community, and brought smiles to the faces of all who met him.

To honour his memory, and to help support as many others in the community as we can, the Dice Tower Community are hoping to raise money to install Joe’s very own “Legend Bench” - a place where those who knew him can sit and remember the good times, and those who need support can find a helping hand and a kind word. The bench will have a tribute to Joe, celebrating all that he meant to those who loved him, and provide information and support for those struggling with mental health issues.

We’ll be working with a fantastic charity called “Legend on the Bench”, who help create and install suicide prevention benches in local parks across the UK. You can find out more about their mission at https://www.legend-on-the-bench.co.uk/

Legend on the Bench is a charity dedicated to supporting people suffering from mental health issues, and preventing loss of life from suicide. They help to install “Legend Benches” in local parks, offering a touching tribute to those we’ve lost whilst being a source of support for those in need. These benches have plaques with a QR code that takes people directly to a webpage containing contact telephone numbers and information about 24-hour support services with real people at the other end, ready to lend a listening ear and offer the support so desperately needed to someone struggling with the impact of depression, bereavement, loneliness, anxiety or other negative thoughts.
