Story
Two years ago, a family member of our team was diagnosed with PAWS GIST at 24 years old. As surgery is not currently an option, and chemotherapy and other traditional methods of treatment do not work with this rare form, research and clinical trials are critical, but all this comes at a cost. We hope that by raising funds for GIST Cancer UK, it will help to continue research and provide better options.
We raised over £900 for the charity last year by completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, and this year, members of the team are running the Sheffield Half Marathon to raise more.
GIST Cancer UK funds research and provides support for patients with a rare form of cancer known as Gastro-Intestinal Stromal Tumour (GIST). They fund research to further treatment options for GIST, collaborate with medical professionals to increase awareness of GIST cancer, and support the PAWS-GIST Clinic in Cambridge.
