PSPA (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Association) is the UK’s leading centre of knowledge, experiences and support for people living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD) and their families. Our mission is to create a better future for everyone affected by PSP & CBD. We work to ensure the 10,000 people with PSP or CBD receive support that is coordinated, has continuity and is compassionate.

At the heart of the PSPA is a community of passionate individuals committed to making a difference. Our team works tirelessly to offer support services, educational programs, awareness campaigns, and fundraising initiatives that empower and inspire.

People often share with me how scary it can be to first hear that they (or yr their loved one) has been diagnosed with PSP or CBD, how difficult it can be for people to navigate the healthcare system; a system that often has no understanding of PSP or CBD. The daily struggles to get basic needs met and managing the ever changing symptoms. Sometimes not knowing where to turn.

I wanted to do something to raise awareness of the conditions, raise awareness of PSPA's work in Wales (and the UK) and, of course, raise as much money as possible to help continue funding the support PSPA offers.

I am passionate about the work I do for PSPA across Wales. Supporting people living with PSP and CBD, supporting their loved ones and family, and Healthcare Professionals. I live in Mid-Wales and attended the Bog Snorkelling event for the first time last year. The atmosphere was great; good fun and very supportive of all the participants.

When I thought about wanting to do something to raise awareness of the conditions and the work PSPA do in Wales, of course this event came to mind. And, although I can often be found dipping in the rivers of Mid-Wales, Bog Snorkelling was not something that I ever imagined myself doing. Cant think of a better cause to be getting wet and muddy for!
