Story
A legendary group of pub managers are temporarily abandoning their natural habitat of behind the bar to attempt something truly heroic: an epic walk from Leeds to Manchester on the 16th and 17th of March.
Armed with sturdy boots, questionable navigational skills, and the kind of banter only pub folk can produce before 9am, this crew will be trekking mile after mile fuelled by friendship, determination, and the promise of a well-earned pint at the end.
This is a team that knows how to graft hard, laugh louder, and look after one another — and that spirit will be carrying them every step of the way. Expect plenty of banter, some deeply questionable playlists, motivational speeches that dissolve into laughter, and at least one moment of “whose idea was this again?” There will be blisters, bad weather, and probably a strong desire to teleport… but also stories shared, memories remembered, and a powerful reminder that none of us has to ever walk alone.
This walk is about more than just the distance between two cities. It’s about showing up for each other, raising awareness, and honouring a colleague who meant the world to many.
Big hearts, big steps, and big respect — here’s to walking together, remembering Eamonn, and proving that pub managers can do just about anything (as long as there’s a bar waiting at the finish). 🍻💙
Eamonn was one of those people who left a mark — the kind you feel in the pub long after last orders. This walk is a tribute to him: full of joy, full of humour, and driven by care for others.
By supporting Mind, the group hope to raise vital funds for mental health support, start conversations, and honour a mate who would no doubt be taking the mick while secretly being very proud. Eamonn was a real gentleman who always looked after his team and Mind is a charity that Eamonn supported as it helps others, just like he always did.
So here’s to big miles, bigger hearts, and the ultimate finish line reward — a well-earned pint, raised to Eamonn on St Patrick’s Day (his favourite day of the year!), to friendship, and to walking together for something that truly matters. 💙🚶♂️🍺
