Story

Motivation

Kieran was 34 when he took his own life in October 2025. Recently married, with an excellent job at MoonPay as a successful software engineer, outwardly he had life sorted. This masked his mental health struggle to all but close family and very close friends. His death has blind sided us completely. We just didn’t see it coming as he was starting to open up and discuss his feelings with us and had sought professional help. Neither were enough.

As a result of Kieran’s untimely death we have become aware of several suicide prevention charities. The one that fits best for Kieran is Andy’s Man Club, a nationwide charity that aims to get men talking about their feelings - this charity was founded by a family who experienced a similar tragic event. More on Andy's Man Club here: https://andysmanclub.co.uk/

In tribute to Kieran, and in support of Andy’s Man Club, Dave James (Kieran’s Step Dad, aka DJ) and Dave Harding (aka Dave the Vet) will be cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats (LEJOG), a distance of 1000 miles in 14 days. We will be joined by others for several of the stages, most notably, Pete Damon and Jez Bullman who have drawn the short straw through Cornwall and Devon, apparently the hardest days.

Go Fund Me

We (DJ and Dave the Vet) are self funding this charitable event and although we want as much of the donations to go to Andy's Man Club via Just Giving, it would be super appreciated if you could make a contribution to the support cost. Accommodation, food, fuel for the support vehicle, it all mounts up. At this time we estimate the support to be in the region of £1000.
