Hi there, I'm Dan.

I currently work for Basis Yorkshire, who work to empower women and young people to stay safe and make positive choices.

Basis are a specialist voluntary organisation that works specifically with sexworkers (indoor and street-based ) in Leeds and with young people who are being sexually exploited or who have experienced this in the past across Yorkshire.

Because of how I present, I can't directly support the people that engage with Basis Yorkshire, so I have decided to support in a way that I can do so - and that is by fundraising!

For my very first fundraising endeavour, I have decided to walk from my original home town of Chesterfield (in Derbyshire), all the way to my current home of Leeds (in West Yorkshire).

That's a total of 72 miles! And I'm hoping to complete this hike in 6 days; so an average of 12 miles a day.

This will take place on Sunday 4th October 2026, through to Friday 9th October 2026; and I will be posting updates on both here and LinkedIn, as my journey progresses.
