We’re dedicated to making sure everyone with endometriosis gets on the right pathway to care. Support the 1 in 10 and sign up to take part this July.

Story

Endometriosis affects around 1 in 10 women in the UK — approximately 1.5 million people. Of those, around 10% live with Deep Infilating Endometriosis (DIE), one of the most severe forms of the disease.

Despite how common it is, the average time to receive a diagnosis is currently around 9 years. For those who require surgery after diagnosis, waiting times can range from 6 to 18 months following the initial consultation with a specialist consultant. No one should have to wait years to be heard, believed, or treated.

That’s why the Dudley Kingswinford Vixens Ladies Rugby Team has decided to take on this challenge together — to support me following my recent diagnosis of Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis (DIE), while also raising awareness and funds for Endometriosis UK. Together, we want to help ensure that people living with endometriosis get the right support, diagnosis, and treatment at the right time.

My Story

What started as a journey to understand infertility and explore whether my partner and I could start a family became something much bigger. In December 2025, I was diagnosed with Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis (DIE).

The disease has significantly affected my body. Endometriosis has infiltrated my bowel and joints, twisted my uterus, and caused my ovaries to become fused together and attached to my uterus in the pouch of Douglas. It has also severely damaged my left fallopian tube and ovary to the point where they may need to be removed, with further tissue fused to my bowel wall.

I now require major surgery — firstly, to help restore my quality of life, and secondly, in the hope of preserving my right ovary and fallopian tube, restoring my anatomy, and giving my partner and me the chance to go through IVF and hopefully start the family we have dreamed of.

By supporting this fundraiser, you are not only supporting me and the Vixens — you are helping raise awareness for the millions of people living with endometriosis who deserve earlier diagnosis, better care, and hope for the future.

Thank you so much for your support — every donation, share, and conversation helps make a difference.
