Every year, our team do something for a worthwhile cause. This year, we hope to raise as much as possible for GIST Cancer UK. Due to the rarity of this cancer, it does not receive the funding that more common cancers do. So as a team, we are undertaking the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge on the 18th of October, to raise money for GIST Cancer UK.

In May last year, a family member of our team was diagnosed with PAWS GIST at 24 years old. As surgery is not currently an option, and chemotherapy and other traditional methods of treatment do not work with this rare form, research and clinical trials are critical, but all this comes at a cost. We hope that by raising funds for GIST Cancer UK, they will be able to continue research and provide better options.

GIST Cancer UK funds research and provides support for patients with a rare form of cancer known as Gastro-Intestinal Stromal Tumour (GIST). They fund research to further treatment options for GIST, collaborate with medical professionals to increase awareness of GIST cancer, and support the PAWS-GIST Clinic in Cambridge.
