DocBike Devon Emergency Response Kit Fundraising

As well as our work helping bikers stay safe on the road, we’re working towards launching our motorcycle response service. This will put a highly skilled clinician on a motorcycle, so they can respond to emergencies and support the ambulance service across Devon. We need your help to raise funds to purchase some final bits of equipment, such as a defibrillator, to allow us to launch our response service. We've made a Christmas wish list of the kit we wish to purchase, please see the images for details.
To do this we are looking to fund raise £4500 to purchase this kit and get our response service up and running. We want to purchase a defibrillator and some compact monitoring equipment, this will allow our clinicians to treat patients and offer the best care, wherever they are. Due to the size and weight restrictions of a motorcycle, we require specialist equipment that’s lightweight, sturdy and highly reliable. This kit, when combined with the other bits of equipment and consumables in our response kit, will allow our clinicians to attend any emergency that may require their assistance and ultimately help patients out and about in the community, reduce response times and help save lives.
Please help us to achieve our goal for fundraising and help us get our lifesaving response service on the road. All donations are very gratefully received, and will bring us closer to being able to purchase this lifesaving equipment. For more information on the work that DocBike Devon does, please see our social media profiles on Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) or our website www.docbike.org
A great way of boosting your donation, at no extra cost to you, is through gift aid. If you’re eligible, you can allow us to claim gift aid on your donation and this will boost it by 25% helping us reach our goal even quicker. Any funds left over after we’ve purchased the necessary kit, will go towards fuelling and maintaining our DocBike, as well as purchasing kit for our responders such as jackets.
What we want to purchase:
Defibrillator: A key piece of kit for our clinicians, allowing them to help patients in cardiac arrest.
Monitoring kit including a portable capnograph, BP monitor, thermometer and glucometer: These are keys pieces of monitoring kit, allowing our clinicians to monitor the health and vitals of patients and enabling them to give the best pre hospital care possible.
More about DocBike:
DocBike is a charity dedicated to saving lives through education, engagement and emergency response. We work to keep bikers safe, raising awareness of the dangers faced by bikers as well as sharing our knowledge to help keep them safe. We engage with the biker community, in a friendly, judgement and enforcement free way with the hope of eliminating deaths and serious injuries on the road.
We're also working on launching our emergency response service. This will put a highly trained volunteer emergency clinician on two wheels, dispatched by South Western Ambulance Service to emergency calls across Devon. Our DocBike, combined with the skills of our responders, allows them to get to calls quickly and safely, even in high traffic areas. We hope to launch this service soon, and when launched, it will have a real world positive impact on the community.
