Do It For Dom 2024 · 20 June 2024 ·

We raise funds to assist in the treatment and care of persons suffering from mental or physical illness, in particular Huntington's disease. We also give funds to promote research, grants to other organisations with similar purposes and other such support as the trustees see fit.

Story

Huntington's disease is a condition that stops parts of the brain working properly over time. It's passed on (inherited) from a person's parents. It gets gradually worse over time.

There is no cure. When Dom was diagnosed in 2017, we planned to do something for Dom. So the ideas started and we formulated a plan. Dom said nobody would join, but we had other ideas! And, it became even bigger than we ever expected. In 2018, we took 50 property professionals up Snowdon and raised £70k. Everyone who attended had a truly wonderful time and have made friendships and a bond that will last forever.

In 2019, we doubled in size and took 100 property professionals 33 miles over 2 days on the River Wye. It was a hell of a celebration and we raised around £80k. Due to Covid, we were forced to go quiet for a while, but in 2023 we took on Mam Tor and raised £73,000.

Can we beat that figure in 2024? We really want to, so any amount you can donate would be gratefully received and massively appreciated.

From,

Carla, David, Kristjan, Matt, Megan & Toby
