Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Dollar Academy, in partnership with principal sponsor Thomas Franks, is taking part in Doddie’s Triple Crown 2026 - an ambitious four-day, 800-mile ride raising vital funds for Motor Neurone Disease research through the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. MND continues to directly touch our school community through our Former Pupils. Last year, Dollar supported the charity ride in memory of Scott Stewart (FP2000) who died in December of 2024 age just 42. This year we ride for Iain Muir-Nelson (FP1984) who was diagnosed with MND in 2024.
The team will leave Dollar after school on Monday 9 March to travel to Melrose for the official start on Tuesday 10 March, cycling through England and Wales before crossing to Ireland and finishing at the Aviva Stadium ahead of the Ireland vs Scotland match on Saturday 14 March.
Our team brings together the whole school community including the Rector, 4 current pupils, staff, a governor, parents and former pupils. Our nine riders will work as a relay team to cover every mile of the route, supported by three vehicles. Dollar is proud to be the first school to have pupils take on the cycling challenge in its entirety!
To match the scale of the physical challenge, we have set ourselves an ambitious fundraising target of £50,000. Every pound donated through this page goes directly to the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
You can read more about why we are riding and meet the team on the Dollar Academy website.
