My husband John was a very well known and devoted family man. He was also a local businessman, running Victoria Motors in Lurgan with his father for 26 years.

He was known for his kindness and good nature. Indeed anyone who knew John called him 'the gentle giant'.

I have set up this fundraising page in memory of John to help raise awareness for mental health. My children and I believe there should be more support out there for those who are struggling with their mental health.

Anyone who knew John would never have known that he was suffering and it saddens me deeply that he struggled so much and didn't share his pain. I am broken-hearted that I, myself, didn't even know he was struggling.

I sincerely hope and pray that, by running this fundraiser in John's memory, it will help at least one person who is dealing with mental health issues and finding life tough.

This is one way to help raise money for Action Mental Health. We will be holding multiple fundraising events throughout the year. One of the main events will be at the woodville arms on September 28 with Bingo Cabaret and traditional music. There will be a larger raffle with a top prize of a weekend in Donegal. We are also organising a disco night and a poker night. Plus there will be kids entertainment as well.
