This year, I am running the Great North Run for the Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade (TVLB) who provide a coastal Search and Rescue service 24-7 all year round across North Tyneside.

TVLB attends callouts on behalf of HM Coastguard covering search, rope, and water rescue as well as providing first aid to casualties on scene whilst they are waiting for any onward care.

It costs around £3000 to fully train and equip each new member and as a small independent charity run entirely by volunteers, they rely heavily on the generosity of supporters and fundraisers to enable them to continue to provide this year-round service. 2025 was TVLB's busiest year on record so please give what you can.
