Fundraiser for The King's Arms Youth Project

Sponsored walk between our youth centres. · 26 July 2024
So, we all did the walk! 17 miles - most of it uphill (well it felt like that anyway). We had a lot of fun, got very tired, but we did it and it was awesome. We are raising funds to support the work of The King's Arms Youth Project by doing a sponsored walk between our two youth centres in Petersfield and Alton in Hampshire.
In particular, we are fundraising to cover the current gap in funding for our new EMPOWER programme in Alton, supporting a small group of EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoiders) young people in their final year of secondary school. For young people who find it really tough to physically be in school, KA will offer space in our youth centre where teaching can happen plus the support of our youth workers. This can make a huge difference for these young people and help them sit their exams and make good choices for year 12 + 13.
We start the project in Alton in September.
It's a long walk (over 13 miles) with a fair bit of climbing too! A few of the KA team will be walking together and hope to bring some young people with us too.
It's going to be a challenging walk so show your appreciation of the effort and all the good work that KA does day in and day out by giving now!
