Story

Cycling Land’s End to John O’Groats for the Injured Jockeys Fund

On 1st June, I’ll be setting off from Land’s End to cycle all the way to John O’Groats, aiming to complete the journey in just 7 days — a huge physical and mental challenge, but one I’m proud to take on for an incredibly important cause: the Injured Jockeys Fund (IJF).

I work closely within the racing industry, training racehorses, and through this I see first-hand, every single day, the vital work the IJF does. Horse racing is a sport built on dedication, bravery and commitment, but it also comes with very real risks. When injuries happen, the IJF is there — providing support, rehabilitation, and long-term care to jockeys when they need it most.

The work they do often goes unseen by the wider public, but within the industry it makes a life-changing difference. From immediate medical support to helping jockeys rebuild their lives and careers, the IJF truly looks after its own — and that’s why this cause means so much to me.

This ride will push me well outside my comfort zone, covering long distances day after day, but it’s nothing compared to the challenges faced by injured jockeys. Every mile I ride is for them.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean a huge amount. Your support will help ensure the Injured Jockeys Fund can continue the incredible work they do for those who give everything to the sport.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this — and for supporting both the ride and the IJF.
