Story
In 1981, police officer John Macleod set up the Scottish MND Association from his living room, two years after he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) aged 33, he passed away in October 1983 aged 35.
I am the eldest of John and Peigi MacLeod’s three sons, I was 10 years old when my father was diagnosed with MND and 13 years old when he passed. MND is a life changing disease, not only for the person affected by this horrific disease but also their families and support networks too.
Along with 6 friends, Iain Ramsay, Ross Duthie, Brendan Innes, Eamonn Keane, Alun Williams and Keith Fairbairn are walking the Speyside Way (approx 83 miles)to raise money for MND Scotland, a big shout out to the lads for doing this over three and a half days.
MND Scotland is the only Scottish charity providing care and support to people affected by Motor Neuron Disease (MND), as well as funding research to take us a step closer to a cure.
We want a world without Motor Neuron Disease, so I’m fundraising because I want to help find a cure for this devastating disease.
Sponsoring me will also help MND Scotland to provide practical, financial, and emotional support to people affected by MND.
Thank you!
