Story
I chose to fundraise for Art in Healthcare because this cause it resonates with me. As an artist, art has been a source of joy in my life since I was a child, and in moments when I’ve felt low, being creative has helped me feel more grounded and lifted. This is why I believe creativity and mental wellbeing are closely connected.
Through my experience running art workshops and working as an art tutor, I’ve also seen the positive effect art can have on others. Even among people who weren’t experiencing anxiety or distress, creative activities often brought happiness, focus, and a sense of calm. Seeing this has made me even more aware of how meaningful art can be during moments of discomfort or vulnerability.
Living and working in Edinburgh, I’m proud to support an organisation that brings art into healthcare spaces. I’m running this half marathon with the hope of contributing, in a small way, to the work they do. If you’re able to donate, you’d be supporting my run as well as a cause that brings comfort, creativity, and care into places where people may need a moment of distraction.
Thank you so much 🤍
