Donna's fundraiser for LUPUS UK

31-mile challenge · 1 October 2023
Most of you will know why I have decided to do this challenge.
For those of you who do not - my Dad passed away suddenly in February aged just 60. He had battled hard for the last 12 years after a late Lupus diagnosis, which also resulted in a below the knee amputation.
He left behind a devastated family who love and miss him dearly - a wife of 40years, myself and my brother, our partners and grandchildren he will never see grow up.
My Dad was a truly amazing man, who would do anything for anyone. He has been robbed of so much by this awful disease.
I’ve strived to raise more awareness since his diagnosis, as an early diagnosis can mean the difference between living a relatively normal life, or having your life cut short. I want to prevent as many families as possible from going through the utter heartbreak that we have.
Below is some information on Lupus Awareness Month. I’d appreciate any donation however big or small, but most of all - PLEASE share the hell out of this!!
Feel free to join me - I’ll be doing the 31-mile change to walk a minimum of 31 miles in October.

Lupus Awareness Month takes place every October and is an opportunity for lupus organisations around the world to come together to raise awareness and funds in support of the estimated 1.5 million people living with the disease globally.
You can find a range of activities to take part in on the LUPUS UK website at www.lupusuk.org.uk/lupus-awareness-month.
A small donation can go a long way in helping us to support people with lupus.
Please share photos/screenshots of you and your family and friends on the day with LUPUS UK by tagging the charity on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Don't forget to use #LUPUSUK and #LupusAwarenessMonth.
