Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 18th of April my partner (Roy), and I will be attempting to complete an extended version of the famous fell running route, The Bob Graham Round. This famous route takes in 42 of the highest peaks in the Lake District and creates a continuous loop starting and finishing at Moot Hall in Keswick. Our hiking version of this route will cover approximately 150km and 10,000 metres of elevation gain. To put this into context that is more elevation gain than climbing Everest from sea level. We will be attempting to complete this challenge over 7 consecutive days.
We thought this challenge was an ideal opportunity to potentially benefit a charity organisation. Due to the recognised benefits of the outdoors and exercise on mental health, particularly in young people we felt that The Mary O’Gara Foundation is the perfect fit. In addition my long term friendship with the O’Gara family made this charity the natural choice. This is an amazing charity run by the O’Gara family and 100% of funds raised goes directly to supporting and raising awareness around suicide prevention amongst young people. Any donation that you can provide would be much appreciated by myself Roy and the O’Gara family.
