I'm raising funds by participating in the Peak District Ultra Challenge for MIND.

The plan is to run walk the 50k. I started 2 years ago with Parkrun and never thought this was a possibility.

Here's why I'm fundraising:

In December of 1999 when everyone was coordinating and getting ready to celebrate the end of 1999 and the start of 2000 my Dad ended his own life. This was following a short period of mental ill health. He was aged just 59. It can be really hard to know what to do when supporting someone with a mental health problem. This not only affects the individual it also affects the whole family unit. As a family we talk about my Dad a lot and hope our story helps others to find support for mental health. He was also a big fundraiser for a number of different charities and always liked to help others.

MIND is an amazing charity. Everyone should be able to access excellent care and services. MIND mental health charity aims to make sure no one has to face mental health alone.
