Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for the Endurancelife Northumberland Marathon.

For my first (and perhaps only) marathon, I've decided to make things easy for myself by tackling a trail run along the coast of Northumberland... in February. Also, at 27.7 miles, it's actually slightly longer than marathon distance. Oh, cripes.

I've decided to fundraise for the Woodland Trust, the UK's leading woodland conservation charity, and I'd love it if you feel inclined to make a donation of any size. It will definitely help me battle through the sleet and gales at mile 20 if I imagine the woodland we're planting.

This north-to-south race starts at Alnwick and ends at Bamburgh. The Northumberland coastline boasts some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in the UK and is best known for its sweeping sandy beaches, rolling dunes, high rocky cliffs, and isolated islands. This striking landscape is steeped in history and there are few sights on earth that compare with Bamburgh Castle and its expansive and exposed bayside setting.
