This year, at Butterburn Bar & Lounge, we have chosen to support Kidney Research UK 💙 — a charity that means a great deal to us personally.

Many of our customers will know Ross Brown and his family as regular faces in our pub, and people we are proud to call friends. Ross was born with Polycystic Kidney Disease and, at just 24 years old, has already faced a lifetime of medication, hospital visits, and treatment. He has now reached the stage where he requires a kidney transplant.

In a truly selfless act, his mum Kay is preparing to donate her kidney to help give Ross a better future.

As a pub, we’ve always believed in looking after our own, and this year we want to do everything we can to support Ross, Kay, and their family, while also helping raise awareness and funds for the incredible work done by Kidney Research UK.

Over the coming months we’ll be holding fundraising events and collections, and we hope our amazing community will get behind us every step of the way.
