Story

Dear Friend

This message is the first request for charity contributions that I have ever undertaken and I apologise for the direct approach.

As you may or may not know I was given the privilege of captaining West Malling Golf Club for 2024.

One of the many responsibilities of being captain is choosing a charity for the club to support and to this end I have chosen Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Services (ADSS). ADSS provides support not only to sufferers of this cruel illness but also to their carers.

There are various events planned throughout the year at West Malling but I have undertaken to make a personal effort to raise funds on a given day.

That day is Wednesday 26th June which happens to be my 75th birthday. On that day I will attempt to play 75 holes of golf teeing off at 6am in a buggy. Having had knee and hip replacement surgery int the last few years I am afraid the buggy is necessary! I hope to complete the task in less than 12 hours playing time and less than 390 shots.

I would appreciate your assistance in raising as much money as possible from this event. Any contribution would be gratefully received.

I have sent this Just Giving link to many friends but I would also ask that you forward it to family members and other friends to broaden the scope of contributions.

Many thanks for your help.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
