Story

Douglas and Lyle are embarking on an ambitious challenge: a 305-kilometre cycling journey from Swansea to New Quay. Along the way, they'll visit each of the 10 active RNLI stations, including Mumbles, Horton & Port Eynon, Burry Port, Tenby, Angle, Little Haven, St Davids, Fishguard, and Cardigan. This is more than just a cycling event; it's a tribute to the dedication of RNLI volunteers who risk their lives to ensure the safety of others.

The funds raised through this challenge will be split equally between two vital RNLI stations: Tower Lifeboat Station and New Quay Lifeboat Station. New Quay's volunteers have been on duty since 1864, safeguarding the Ceredigion coast. On the other hand, Tower Lifeboat Station, situated at Waterloo Bridge on the Thames, is the busiest RNLI station, with more than 10,000 launches since its establishment in 2002.

Your support is essential because the RNLI operates solely on donations; it doesn't receive government funding. By contributing to our fundraiser, you directly contribute to the RNLI's ability to provide essential lifeboat services, equipment, and training.

RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.
