Douglas Rathey is raising money for The Zak Scott Braveheart Foundation

Walk from Firth of Clyde Gourock 626 to Dumbarton Kilwinning 18 · 21 June 2025

The Zak Scott Braveheart Foundation was founded to provide help and grant small wishes of children and young people with a heart disorder who are being/or about to be treated at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Glasgow (Yorkhill).

Story

After the success of last year’s charitable fundraiser for Glasgow Children’s Hospital, Saint Conval 1359 and our friends from Renfrewshire East alongside our co-organisers, Graeme Wallace from Renfrewshire West Young Masons and John McLeary and Sam Winetrobe from Dumbartonshire Young Masons have decided to join forces in order to raise funds for the Zak Scott Braveheart Foundation, a local charity which provides help and grants small wishes to children and young people with heart disorders who have been treated at the Glasgow Children’s Hospital including my own son, Alexander who is now happy and thriving after open heart surgery last summer.

We are walking from Firth of Clyde Gourock 626 to Dumbarton Kilwinning 18 on Saturday 21st June at 9am, a distance of some 22 miles. Don’t be fooled by the title - this event is open to everyone of all age and fitness and we would love to have your company for even a small part of the route.
