As Christmas approaches, we at Douglas Funeral Directors are aware that this can be a very difficult time of year for many who have lost loved ones.

We wanted to provide the community with a place to remember those we love, but who are no longer with us, so this year we have introduced a Christmas tree in our funeral home.

This tree will serve as a Remembrance Tree, if you have lost a loved one, be it this year or any previous year, and would like their name added to the tree, simply call in, email info@douglasfuneraldirectors.com or leave us a message here on our Facebook page.

Beside our tree, there are little Christmas themed tags for you to write a name or a message, then simply hang your tag on the tree.

Additionally, beside the tree, there is a charity collection box in aid of Marie Curie, there is absolutely no obligation to donate but if you can, it would be very much appreciated.

We Have also created a Justgiving page for those that cannot make it in person but would like to contribute to our fundraising effort.

Shortly after Christmas, we will total up those donations and the company will match or better that total.

Hopefully, this tree will become a tradition here and serve not only as an opportunity to remember those we have lost over the years but to help a very worthy cause.
