Story
As a member of Portishead Cycling Club (PCC), I’ve joined our annual charity fundraiser - this year for Penny Brohn UK, a cancer health and wellbeing charity.
Starting Mon 2 Feb, for 4 weeks, we will pedal up hills (indoors or outdoors) for Penny Brohn.
I’m recovering from my 2nd hip replacement (12th Dec). Osteoarthritis in both hips means that my hill climbing muscles aren’t what they used to be (and I’m generally unfit and out of shape) 😖
As of Saturday morning (21st Feb), I had climbed the most meters (32 147) of any of my PCC friends (albeit more slowly than a slug up a lettuce leaf). Nuts? Yes. But I’ll keep going every day till midnight of the 4th week if you could kindly donate some cash to my justgiving page. Any amount, much appreciated!
More about this great charity:
At Penny Brohn UK, we believe that no one should face cancer alone. Our holistic approach, known as The Bristol Whole Life Approach, provides anyone affected by cancer with practical, emotional, and social support. We aim to improve their quality of life and help them manage the fear and uncertainty that often accompanies a cancer diagnosis.
