Hi, I’m Vik, and I’m raising £3,000 to support my upcoming dental volunteering trip to Uganda in 2027 with Dentaid.
Dentaid is a dental charity that provides essential dental care and oral health advice to people experiencing homelessness, poverty, abuse and hardship. Too many people are left living with dental pain for far longer than they should, simply because they have no access to treatment.
As a dentist, this is something I care deeply about.
Seeing people live with pain when it could be treated is something that really stays with me.
It’s hard knowing that something as basic as dental care is still out of reach for so many people.
I’ve also had the opportunity to volunteer in Thailand in the past, and that experience gave me a real insight into how much it means when care is available to people who would otherwise go without. It’s a big part of why I wanted to do this again.
In 2027, I’ll be travelling to Uganda as part of this work, helping to provide dental care and oral health support to communities with limited access to treatment.
Oral health affects so much more than just someone’s mouth — it can affect confidence, wellbeing and daily life, and for many people, getting out of pain can make a huge difference.
I’m raising £3,000 to help make this possible and to support the wider work Dentaid does both in the UK and overseas.
