Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Rugby is in our blood but the years have taken their toll and the joints and muscles aren’t working as well as they used to.

DRUFC Has Beens Swimming Association was set up by DRUFC stalwarts Dangerous Dave Senior, Mark Shandy Longworth, Chris GB Conway and Marvellous Mike Bailey to help improve and maintain collective fitness levels post lockdown.

The Group meet regularly at Hatfield Water Park at the well run SwimYourSwim sessions (Tue and Thurs evenings and Saturday mornings). Numbers peak in the Summer when more backs are tempted by fairer weather and warmer water temperatures.

Always up for a challenge we have decided to swim 10km and help raise funds for The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

Supported by SwimYourSwim we plan to complete a 10km swim in 5 hours either individually (mad forwards) or as part of relay squads and have chosen Doddies Foundation due to his inspirational character and obvious links to the game we love.
