UPDATE 19/02/2026:- Thank you so much for all of your support and lovely messages so far, Alistair's family and the surgery really appreciate it.
On Saturday 21st February we are all taking part in a 'Zumba with James' session to raise more vital funds for Kidney Cancer UK. James will be putting us all through our paces and we know Alistair will be having a good laugh at us all. Your continued support means a lot to us all! ...
Duke Street Surgery are raising funds for Kidney Cancer UK in memory of our cherished colleague and friend Dr Alistair Harrison.
Dr Harrison sadly passed away recently after a short battle with cancer. We have lost a kind, committed, inspiring and brilliant colleague and we know this loss will be felt by many of his patients.
Alistair was incredibly brave in his battle with cancer and he was keen for us to raise funds for Kidney Cancer UK to help fund vital work and provide support for others affected by this cruel disease.
Any donations are very much appreciated.
Many thanks form all of the staff at Duke Street Surgery
'Kidney Cancer UK is the UK's leading kidney cancer charity.
Kidney cancer is the sixth most common cancer in the UK, with approximately 13,300 new cases diagnosed annually. Alarmingly, over half of these cases are diagnosed incidentally, often during tests for unrelated conditions, leading to delays in treatment. Each year, around 4,700 people in the UK lose their lives to this disease.
By supporting Kidney Cancer UK, you're helping to fund vital work and provide support to those affected.
Thank you 💚'
