Our Huge Swim

HUGE specifically provides financial and resource support to the Nabugabo Community Learning Centre, a primary school set up in 2012, solely to provide free education and support to vulnerable and disadvantaged children, who would otherwise not be able to attend school. It is located in South West Uganda in a rural and very poor area approximately 150kms south west of Kampala. The social purpose of HUGE is to provide these children with an education through high quality teaching in a dynamic, caring and safe environment. The long term aim of HUGE is to support the children of NCLC on their educational journey and to enable them to realise their ambitions. Above all the welfare of the children is paramount.

Story

Last year, the boys in Lower School and Middle School changed the lives of 8 boys in Uganda by raising money to send them to a local NCLC primary school. Since then, the boys have exchanged letters and kept us up to date on how their school year has progressed. The 8 boys have also been invited to join a Tribe in either Lower School or Middle School.

Without this Service from the Readathon, these 8 boys would have been unable to attend school and instead would have had to start work in the local farms. We are hoping to raise enough money to keep these 8 boys in school for another year as they progress towards secondary school.

In the coming weeks, the boys in Lower School and Middle School will be taking part in a sponsored swim during their swimming lessons. If you are able to sponsor any of the boys swimming lengths, the money raised will be put to ensuring Fred, Joseph, Ronald, Vincent, Shadick, Dan, Justus and Arnold are able to attend school for the next academic year.
