Dumball Rally · 6 June 2025

We've been caring for people in Greater Manchester and Cheshire for more than half a century, and we have big plans for the future. We need a new, purpose-built hospice that will serve the needs of our community now and in the future.

Story

This year, John and Rosemary will be celebrating 50 years of marriage. Our Golden Wedding Anniversary!! (No presents please!) We are teaming up with school friend, Carolyn and her husband, Roger, who will also be celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

The Dumball g-Oldies

One of our ‘bucket list’ ambitions is to take part in the Dumball Rally…raising funds for charity!

The Dumball is a driving challenge like no other. We take old cars, dress them up, and push them to their limit, driving them as far as we can in just one week. The goal: to prove that any obstacle (even 50 years of marriage) can be overcome with a fun positive attitude, determination and lashings of fancy dress.

The 2025 Dumball Rally will see a band of intrepid fundraisers take a fleet of old bangers to Majorca, in full fancy dress, covering over 4000km in 7 days. ( We must be mad!)

We will be driving an old Vauxhall Zafira to raise money to furnish a bedroom at the new St Ann’s Hospice being built in Heald Green, Greater Manchester. The bedroom is being sponsored by St Ann’s Hospice Festival Choir ( Rosemary has been Chair for many years ) and still need £4,000 to complete the £50,000 target. Any donation large or small will help us reach our goal! If you are a British Taxpayer please add gift aid.

Your amazing support enables St Ann’s Hospice to provide care to people and their families living with a life-limiting illness in the Greater Manchester community. They provide a range of free services to patients, carers and their loved ones from three sites as well as supporting patients in their own homes.
