Story

Duncan and Archie are taking part in the Great North Run on Sunday 7th September, probably the most recognisable half marathon in the world and at 13.1 miles it will be Archie’s debut at the distance. Originally they were going to take on Great Birmingham Run on Sunday 4 May 2025, but as this is only 5 days before Duncan joins Andrew and Derek on their mammoth cycle challenge they have switched to this iconic event.

We are raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity in support of Mark’s Mission.

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and its aim is to save and improve lives and to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. It is the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally.

Mark’s Mission’s aim is to raise awareness about brain tumours, how devastating they are and to shine a light on how this terrible disease impacts family, friends and all those associated with anyone who is afflicted.

Mark’s Mission’s was founded by Duncan’s brother Andrew who was inspired to set up the ‘mission’ by his best friend Mark Monaghan who was diagnosed with a stage 4 glioblastoma brain tumour which tragically is terminal. The full story of Mark’s Mission and the events associated with it can be found at www.marksmission.co.uk

Every penny that we raise will go to The Brain Tumour Charity so please give generously and support us in our half marathon challenge.
