Fire Walk · 15 March 2025

Dive Ability is a member led scuba diving charity committed to enabling people who have disabilities or disadvantages to discover the adventurous world of scuba diving.

Story

So, the Fire Walk took place and I succeeded in doing 2 walks (without injury). They measured the temperature whilst we were walking and it varied between 900-1200 degrees!!!

Unfortunately, the various video’s were not so great. A combination of excess light from the fire and no external light made them all a bit rubbish. However, we have got someone to try and adjust them and first signs are good but they are such large files they will have to go onto our website or Facebook page.

On the Dive Ability Facebook page some photos have been loaded (go to the +17 marker) and some way in, you will see yours truly. I have attached Denises sole effort although a bit out of focus does at least show my walk. I also attach a copy of my certificate of achievement.

More importantly, our combined efforts on this event have raised just over £8000 with a promise of a further £1000 to come. A fantastic achievement.

Efforts earlier in the year and Gift Aid from HMRC have raised an additional £3000.

And thanks to one of our supporters, we have agreement from the supplier that VAT will not be applied. So, at the end of the day, we have achieved our target and can now look to replace our hoist.

This has been in no small part as a result of your very kind donation and I thank you for your support as of course do the beneficiaries who will directly benefit from this new equipment.

Thank you so much.
