Golf Day fundraiser for The Children's Cancer Unit Charity

Duncan Bruce is raising money for The Children's Cancer Unit Charity
In memory of Evie Entwistle

Golf Day · 30 August 2026

The Children's Cancer Unit Charity supports the work of the medical team and staff at the Children’s Cancer Unit at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. We are a registered charity and depend on donations and fundraising by the general public.

Story

On Sunday 30th August, we will be hosting a golf day at Carrickfergus Golf Club, with the aim to raise as much funds as possible for The Children's Cancer Unit Charity at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

Also, some friends and I will be walking 9.2km to the summit of Slieve Donard, the tallest of the Mourne Mountains, standing proudly at 2,789ft on Sunday 23rd August.

Between 60 and 70 children in Northern Ireland are diagnosed with cancer or a complex blood disorder each year. Every one of them will be treated at the Children’s Cancer Unit in the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.

Their sole mission is to provide the best possible treatment and support for children and their families facing a cancer diagnosis or complex blood disorder.

They help to provide vital resources for the Children’s Cancer Unit and invest in specialised staff, equipment, research and family support services.

We are doing this in memory of our grand-daughter & niece Evie ❤️

Any donation big or small towards our target is greatly appreciated and will go directly to helping a sick child and their family.

Thank you.
