Story
So I've decided to take on another challenge in memory of my dearly missed Father, James. In 2021, Dad left this world after a battle with Leukemia. He fought hard and did everything he could to stay with us as long as he could. Bravely and with such dignity, never complaining, always pragmatic and taking everything as it came. He was more concerned about everyone else, a true sign of his character. We all miss him so so much and remember him with such fondness. Never a day goes by where I don't think of him.
In 2023, I set the task of raising money for the amazing Irish Cancer Society by running my first ever marathon in Dublin. Little did I know what a massive task I was taking on. Nonetheless I managed to finish it and raised an amazing amount of money in his memory from some unbelievably generous donations from friends and family.
This time I've decided to take on the challenge of running the Tokyo Marathon in 2026 in aid of the Irish Cancer Society and in my Dads memory. I know he would have loved to go to Japan to watch me attempt this, I wish he could have.
The Irish Cancer Society does amazing work and every penny I raise will go to this amazing charity. Thank you in advance for all your support.
