This year I’m taking on the Sydney Marathon to raise money for Kids for Kids and the children and families living in some of the most remote and vulnerable communities in Darfur, Sudan.

I chose Kids for Kids because it is a small charity making a very real and practical difference. Since the conflict in Sudan began in 2023 the humanitarian situation has become devastating. Families have been forced from their homes and are facing severe shortages of food, clean water and basic essentials.

Kids for Kids has been working in Darfur for more than 25 years. When crisis strikes they are able to respond quickly and directly with emergency aid to families who have very little else to rely on.

The need is enormous. Families are struggling to find enough food and safe drinking water while conflict and displacement continue. For children in particular this can mean going without essential food and living without the basic supplies they need to survive.

Every donation will help Kids for Kids provide practical emergency support to families facing these incredibly difficult circumstances.

£500 could help provide emergency aid for families including essential food and other urgently needed supplies.

It may seem like a small amount compared with the scale of the crisis but for a family facing the loss of everything it can make a huge difference.

I’m going to be running 42.195km through Sydney to help raise funds for people thousands of miles away who are facing unimaginable circumstances.
