Story

This year I’m going to be running from John O Groats to Gretna Green

For those who don’t know my story, my names Duncan Maclellan and I’ve suffered with depression for over 15 years now. Whilst I managed to hide it for the most part, things started to spiral and in 2022 I hit rock bottom and attempted to take my own life. Since then I’ve worked hard to be more open and talking about how I feel. In this day and age everyone has their own struggles and there’s still such a huge stigma around mental health and men’s mental health in particular.

I’m raising money for RSABI, as a farmer myself I know how tough the industry can be, whether that be financial pressures, Mother Nature or the political storm we find ourselves in at the present time. Farming can be a very lonely and isolating job and we as farmers are resilient but are known to be very bad at looking after ourselves whether that be our mental health or our overall general health.

RSABI do a fantastic job at helping anyone in the agricultural industries whether that be practical, financial, or the mental health side of things.
